Taking its form and name from the Japanese word 'maki' - meaning something that has been rolled - Nendo created the lamp by rolling up two steel sheets from the same form. Soft light spills out from the cracks between the two sheets, and complements the stronger light emitting from the open mouth, as though light itself has been rolled.
